Exploring ICT-Enabled Environmental, Economic, Sociocultural, and Political Sustainability in Enterprises and Government Units
Ewa Ziemba, Dariusz Grabara
This study explores the role of ICT in enabling environmental, economic, sociocultural, and political sustainability within enterprises and government units, aiming to identify differences between these organizational types. Using survey data from 390 randomly selected enterprises and 304 government units in Poland, the analysis reveals that ICT-enabled environmental and economic sustainability is perceived similarly in both sectors. However, government units report slightly higher ratings. In contrast, ICT-enabled sociocultural and political sustainability differs significantly, with government units rating these dimensions notably higher than enterprises. Additionally, the overall level of ICT-enabled sustainability is higher in government units than in enterprises. This research contributes to a micro-level assessment of ICT-driven sustainability, providing valuable insights for policymakers, business leaders, and public administrators seeking to optimize ICT adoption for sustainability across different organizational contexts.
