Unlocking the Potential of AI: Affordances and Actualization of ChatGPT in Enhancing Case-Based Teaching
Nicholas Amoah, Rahul Singh
The rise of artificial intelligence technologies is transforming education and redefining teaching methodologies. Grounded in the affordance-actualization framework, our study aims to explore how ChatGPT features enhance case-based teaching. Furthermore, we investigate the challenges educators face in actualizing these affordances. The findings are expected to offer theoretical and practical implications that could guide educators in effectively integrating ChatGPT into case-based teaching, enabling them to design viable case instruction. For decision-makers, it will emphasize the need for institutions to provide AI literacy training for educators and to invest in AI infrastructure in higher education.
