Impact of IT Use on Employees with ADHD in a Hybrid Work Context

This study explores the impact of IT use on employees with ADHD in a hybrid work context. Using the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model, it examines how IT stimuli act as either motivating resources or stressors, influencing employee well-being. The research adopts an exploratory, qualitative approach, conducting semi-structured interviews with 11 employees diagnosed with ADHD. The findings highlight the dual role of IT stimuli, identifying seven key stimuli that can either support or hinder employees. The study emphasizes the importance of understanding the unique needs of neurodivergent employees to foster inclusion and improve organizational practices. By identifying specific IT characteristics that impact employees with ADHD, the research provides insights for enhancing IT use to better support these professionals, ultimately promoting a more inclusive and innovative work environment.
