When Do Users Respond to Queries on Online Knowledge Communities? Insights from Agent Based Modeling
Le Kuai, Rajiv Sabherwal
Online knowledge communities depend heavily on user participation for development while also require flexible governance to maintain information accuracy and relevance. However, strict rules may alienate less experienced users and hinder participation. This study employs agent-based modeling (ABM) to explore how governance affects user responsiveness in online knowledge communities. It aims to enhance our understanding of these communities by analyzing both active users and lurkers, thereby contributing valuable insights for managing and designing more inclusive online platforms.
