Environmental sustainability driven by ICTs: A Perspective of Enterprises and Government Units
Ewa Ziemba, Dariusz Grabara
This study examines environmental sustainability driven by ICTs in enterprises and government units, aiming to identify any differences between these types of organizations. Utilizing a survey, data from 390 randomly selected enterprises and 304 government units in Poland were analyzed. The results reveal that environmental sustainability driven by ICTs—including sustainability in ICTs, sustainability by ICTs, and awareness of such sustainability—is perceived similarly across both enterprises and government units, albeit with slightly higher ratings in government units. The majority of respondents from both organizational types rated their level of environmental sustainability driven by ICTs as 'very high' or 'high.' This research provides valuable insights into assessing environmental sustainability driven by ICTs at the micro-level, offering guidance for both enterprises and policymakers.
