Perceived Impact of COVID-19 on Trust and Use of e-Government: Public Sector Employees Perspective
Narcyz Roztocki, Wojciech Strzelczyk, Heinz Roland Weistroffer
This paper reports on a study on the impact of COVID-19 on trust and use of e-government services in Poland. Based on a survey of public sector employees, the observed changes in use of these services and the perceived trust in these services is investigated. Local and regional governmental employees in Poland that have been involved with providing e-government services to the public in a crisis situation were surveyed. We find that the use of e-government services seems to have increased and for the most part people indicate reasonable trust in these services. This study was conducted soon after the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted and contributes to a better understanding of how a crisis situation may affect the trust and use of e-government services.
